The Alba Cathay Chinese School is a non-brofit registered charity(SC040169) organization which is funded by Edinburgh City Council.

The school was founded in 1994. The main objective of the School is to provide people, both children(from 5 to 16) and adults whoever is keen at Chinese culture, an opportunity to learn Chinese language as well as Chinese culture. After some years learning, our pupils are able to read, speak and write Chinese up to SQA Advanced Higher level.

We are very pround of our pupils achivement. In the 6th Mandarin Reading Competition 2008 of Scotland, our pupils won 2 (out of 4) first prizes, 1 second prize and 3 third prizes.

The School is administrated by the Executive Committee which comprises three members, Headmaster, Secretary and Treasurer. All these three members are volunteers and elected annually by parents on the annual parents meeting.

From 2008, a new school board with three trustees has formed. The school board's aim is to set a vision for the schools that reflects a consensus of the board, executive team and the parents committee, establish goal for the school as a long term.

At present, the school has about 70 pupils and 9 teachers. Classes have been located to the students by age and Chinese level. The detailed teaching activities and material can be found in Course.
